MPRT ~ Myofascial Postural Re-alignment Therapy

Myofascial release is a manipulative treatment that attempts to release tension in the fascia due to trauma, posture, or inflammation. Connective tissues called fascia surround the muscles, bones, nerves, and organs of the body. Points of restriction in the fascia can place a great deal of pressure on nerves and muscles causing chronic pain.

Practitioners of myofascial release employ long stretching strokes, skin rolling, and cupping, just to name a few.

Cupping is used to balance tissue and muscle mechanics, release adhesions, initiate blood flow, release toxins, and improve joint range of motion These techniques relieve pain and promote healing.

Our body’s structural system consists of 2 main parts:

• The Skeletal System (bone)

• The Muscular System (muscle)

These systems are are key in our overall health and wellbeing.

The Facia System is the connective tissue, the glue, that holds everything else together.

There are 3 types of connective tissues:

• Ligaments which connect muscle to muscle

• Tendons which connect muscle to bone

• Facia which connects the skeletal system to the muscular system.

Areas of facial adhesion/distortion cause a wide range of physical ailments. Facial distortion and adhesion cause PAIN!
